Our History.

Rabbi Howard Shub

Rabbi Howard Shub has had the honor and the pleasure of being associated with Temple Beth Tikvah for over two decades, working first with senior colleague and mentor, Rabbi Richard Rocklin and, subsequently, since January, 2006 as the senior rabbi of TBT. Prior to coming to Florida, Rabbi Shub was a rabbi in Vineland, New Jersey and South Bend, Indiana for 12 years.

Rabbi Shub’s background is somewhat eclectic – Canadian by birth; he was educated in the United States (BA – Yeshiva University, MA and Rabbinic Ordination – the Jewish Theological Seminary of America) and Israel (MA – the Hebrew University of Jerusalem). Education has always played a very special role in his life (his MA is in Jewish education from JTS). Rabbi Shub is of the opinion that not only the education of our children is important, but the education and imparting of Jewish knowledge to our adult population is important as well. He has always believed that education is primal in knowing who we are as Jews and in creating a learned Jewish laity. Hence, as a priority, he has always been involved in Jewish education, both formally and informally

Rabbi Shub is married to his rebbetzen, Helen, and they are blessed with their wonderful children (of course!), Hayden and Holly and her husband, (the dentist), Eliezer and their four beautiful grandchildren (for sure!), Heshy, Hannah, CJ and Mikey.
